Why a sleep routine is important
May 14th, 2021
Our bodies respond well to schedules. That includes a sleep routine. A sleep routine doesn’t have to be anything complicated. In fact, it can really make your life easier and help with depression and anxiety. Here are some tips to help you get a good night‘s sleep.
Do not take a nap close to bedtime
Make sure your bedroom is clutter-free and relaxing.
Limit your caffeine intake.
Establish a regular sleep time and wake-up time. Your body will love you for it.
Try to not eat or drink right before bedtime
Stop looking at your electronics (tv, computers, cellphones, tablets, and laptop computers) an hour before bedtime. Otherwise, the light they give off and the stimulation they provide can keep our brains awake.
Take a relaxing bath or shower before bedtime. Pampering is always a good idea to get you ready for bed.
Pick out your outfit for the next day before you go to bed. You’ll be surprised how much time that can save you in the morning.
Adopt daily meditation practices. They help to quiet a rumination mind and help you relax.
Try a weighted blanket. They help with anxiety.
