Upcoming exhibits at the Hammer Museum

Whether you are an artist, writer, or just a fan, seeing original art in person reveals such depth and emotion to the work. The Hammer has some new exhibits that are very compelling. All exhibits here are FREE to the public. For added insight, opt for a guided tour on Saturdays at 1pm. They also have group tours. In addition to art, The Hammer also has musical performances, speakers, poetry readings, kids’ programs, and screenings.

Hammer Projects: Petrit Halilaj

For his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, Halilaj will present a group of the moths suspended at various heights, illuminated by custom flickering lights.

Hammer Projects: Shadi Habib Allah

Habib Allah’s project is organized around a series of images and sculptures that approximate the quotidian nature and social reality of areas such as Liberty City, which are marked by racial and economic disparity.

Stones to Stains: The Drawings of Victor Hugo

This exhibition sheds new light on Hugo’s experimental and enigmatic practice as a draftsman and includes over 75 drawings and photographs spanning the duration of his career.
