The meaning of Kwanzaa
        December 10th, 2020

There are so many ways to celebrate the holidays. Kwanzaa is a special holiday many people around the world celebrate. It’s a relatively new holiday that started in 1966 celebrating the culture and heritage of African Americans. It focuses on seven principles: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. They are represented by 7 candles. Three of the seven candles are red, representing the struggle; three of the candles are green, representing the land and hope for the future; and one of the candles is black, representing people of African descent. Lots of people celebrate Kwanzaa and Christmas — all are welcome to enjoy it. Learn more now about Kwanzaa’s history. The holiday runs from December 26-January 1.
