The meaning behind the last day of Passover
April 3rd, 2021
It’s Holy Week and it’s always a good time to remind ourselves of the significance behind the holidays. The last day of Passover marks the end of a Jewish holiday that celebrates the deliverance of Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. Passover is also known as Pesah, Pesach, or the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Besides prayers, and incredible food, the Seventh Day of Passover also has a tradition people should remain awake the entire night preceding the seventh day of Passover, studying Torah as a way of thanking God for the miracle He did at that time. During the morning services of the seventh day, the Torah reading includes the biblical narrative of the miraculous salvation at the sea and the song we sang.
