Rhymes so fine: April is National Poetry Month
April 1st, 2022
Whether you love writing it, listening to it, or reading it, poetry has been inspiring man practically since the beginning of time. Going back to ancient times, poetry has stood the test of time. April is National Poetry Month and is a celebration of words and feelings put together beautifully. Poets from all over the world are participating and sharing new poems they write each day of the month. In the end, they’ve got 30 poems that could make a cute little self-published book or pdf to share with family and friends. At NoHo Senior Arts Colony, we adore the poetry of Maya Angelo, Mary Oliver, Jack Kerouac, and Robert Frost. Shel Silverstein’s books would be great to share with the grandkids because they are fun to read, say, memorize, and have adorable pen and ink illustrations. Happy Poetry Month, everyone!
