Music to our ears: Summer of Soul documentary

An exciting new documentary is out and it’s so good! Summer of Soul celebrates the 1969 Harlem Culture Festival in Harlem, New York. This newly revealed footage is such a treat to see and hear. This important documentary was created by musician Quest Love and it puts a much needed and much-appreciated spotlight on the contributions and feelings of people of color, civil rights, and the culture of Harlem. The documentary received 2 Sundance Awards so you know it has to be good. Music performers in this documentary include Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Mahalia Jackson, B.B. King, and many more. Talk about music icons! Summer of Soul can be viewed with the subscription service Hulu.
