Classic children’s books that never go out of style
January 14th, 2021
One of the best aspects of being a new grandparent is rediscovering all the joyful things you shared with your own children when they were little ones. Books are long-lasting treasures. They set the stage for a wonderful love of reading for a child’s entire life. Some of our favorites are the Dr. Seuss series, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, Little House on The Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein, and the list goes on and on. Check out TIME’s 100 best children’s books. Another good habit to share with your grandkids is to support local and independent bookstores. They can order you any book you want and you’ll be supporting a local business that’s so important to our culture and understanding.
